The History if the Holy Rosary Adcademy
Lubao, Pampanga

Holy Rosary Academy was founded on October 28, 1950 . It was originally named as Lubao Central High school whose administration lay on the hands of prominent persons of the town under the direction of Rev. Fr. Diosdado G. Victorio. It was housed at the spacious residence of Miss Felicida B. Manuel, a very energetic and assiduous personality to whom the foundation of the school was ascribed among others.
Worth mentioning, as co – founders are the following: Dr. Macario Datu, Mr. Mariano Sagad and Miss Adelaida Velasco. Later some renowned figures of the town joined into boost the morale of the original founders. Outstanding among are: Dr. Eliodore Congco, Mrs. Juanita A. Vitug, Dr. Efren Baltazar and Mr. Rafael razon.
During the first two years of its earliest years, the school offered subjects for the first and the second years only. With just a handful of student to start with, it did not prove a hindrance to its early educators whose sole aim was to illuminate the minds of the youth as to significance of life here on earth, which serves as a brief prelude to life in heaven. Together with the other teachers, Mrs. F. Manuel with her inexhaustible zeal buckled herself down to the great task of molding the character and building up the personality of the youth without the least expectation for remuneration. After an elapse of a few years, the learning population expanded which consequently demanded for a much wider space to accommodate the growing number of educands. A unanimous agreement among the stockholders and the teachers as well brought forth the decision to move out to a much spacious site for a purposes of accommodation. Since the convent remained unoccupied, it turned out to be the first choice which eventually became the site.
Upon its transfer, the name of the school was changed to Holy Rosary Academy having in mind that that this will be a religious institution and Holy Rosary Academy was chosen to be its name after our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, since it is universally known especially in the Philippines.
In 1960, the stockholders sold the school to Archbishop Emilio A. Cinese. The archbishop invited the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) Sisters to manage the school. The first group of sister sent were all Pampaguenos: Mother Maria Valerina Bautista, RVM the superior, Mother Marie David, RVM, the Principal and Sr. Ma. Aida Zablan, RVM. Later on, Fr. Vicente Navarro, the School Director, requested for an additional Sister and Mother ma. Candelaria Clemente, RVM arrived to complete the Community.
Enrolment increased as years went on. In 1982, the RVM Sisters assigned were: Srs. Ma. Salvacion Abasolo, RVM the Superior , Ma. Soledad Bersamina, RVM who did extension works in Floridablanca and Porac. There were fourteen (14) lat faculty plus the very untiring, solicitous and energetic School Director, Rev. Fr. Gregorio P. Binuya II. He worked for the construction of a school building in addition to the six (6) rooms in order to accommodate more students for coming year.
During the incumbency of Rev. Fr. Jose U. Lacap who served as School Director from 1985 till 1993, The Dominican Sisters of Our Lady of Remedies were asked to help in the school administration by Archbishop Oscar V. Cruz. Sr. Mr. Socorro C. Garcia, OP. was Grade school Principal and at the same time the School treasurer. The Grade School Department then had only Kindergarten, Prepatory, Grade 1, 2 and 3 classes.
The dedicated and committed faculty, staff and administration of Holy Rosary Academy continue to render service to the children and youth entrusted to their care as their participation in their formation and education as mandated by the Mother Church and State.
